Raising funds for repairs to the Scout Hut roof, Brewood Scouts have for raffle, an authentic Ryan Giggs signed Manchester United shirt.
The shirt is an away shirt from 1999 and has been sourced directly from Sir Alex Ferguson's personal charity. The shirt comes with a certificate of authenticity signed by Sir Alex himself.
Tickets are available from the Scout Hut on meeting nights (Monday, Wednesday and Fridays) although the group hope to have them available for purchase in The Swan over the weekend.
The raffle comes hot on the heels of another hugely successful Brewood Cycle Challenge. Almost 400 riders took part in the event for which, by and large, the weather held up!
Riders of all shapes, sizes and ages rode either a 60km or 100km course in what was a real family event. As well as the challenge there was hot food, drinks, live music and even a village treasure hunt to enjoy.
Thanks are due to St. Dominics for loaning the school grounds and kitchen for the start and finish venue. Also to the Stafford amateur radio team for the setting up the race communications, the scouts and explorers for manning check points and not least to the members of the BSF for their superb organisation and dedication in running the event.
Starting the race this year was Beccy Jones-Reading the scout leader who has been chosen to carry the Olympic torch through Wolverhampton at the end of the month.
Plans are already afoot for next years event, for which the 8th June is a provisional date to enter into your diary.
