Results out today have placed St. Dominic's High School for Girls as the leading independent girls school in Staffordshire for it's GCSE 2011 results.
Achieving 94% A*-C GCSEs (including Maths and English) with an average points score per pupil of 528.3, places the school at the top of the league tables of independent girls' schools in Staffordshire.
Acting Headteacher, Lin Read said "we are thrilled with this accolade and are very proud of the girls' achievements. Exam success is measurable but conveying the wonderful atmosphere and ethos of the school is less easy to communicate, so would urge anyone interested in our school to come and take a tour; our next Open Events are on Friday 9th and Saturday 10th March."
She continued "at the heart of the school, is the belief in the development of the ‘whole person’ and we help each child to realise their own talents and gifts, so that they may achieve their full potential within a caring environment. We aim to develop the pupils academically, socially, creatively and spiritually. Just this week, we have had girls from across the school taking part in the Midlands ISA Gymnastics Championships, The Brewood Rotary Speaking Event and a Birmingham Rep drama workshop".
